First day of school brings “lights” to true identities

RCA began the new school year in grand fashion, with the theme of “What will your identity be?”

Students arrived and were pulled from their cars, donned in all black, with 6 th through 8 th graders holding masks in their house colors. The new 5 th graders brought in their white masks, as the wheel had not yet chosen their house identities.

Students were then led inside the new gymnasium for a dance party, where they were met with an electric neon-light show, break dancers, and a live drummer and DJ performance. This was followed by the House sorting ceremony tradition, in which the new 5 th grade students spun the wheel to determine if they would join the House of Amistad, Altruismo, Isibindi or Reveur.
